Occupational Therapist
I'm Lídia Ferreira, born in Benedita and graduated in Occupational Therapy since 2015. My hobbies are traveling, going to the beach, volunteering and cultural and sporting moments with friends. I started volunteering when I was 17 years old, as a volunteer firefighter that I have been trying to reconcile until today with my work practice. I love to walk around and get to know new places, both inside and outside of our country. One of my goals in life yet to be realized is to do volunteer work in Africa because I don't know the context yet and because I like to feel useful and help those in need.
In relation to my professional practice, I started in the area of the elderly where I did my professional internship in a Residential Structure for the Elderly, and later I have also worked in the context of Day Care Center and Home Support. During the years that I dedicated to the elderly, I attended a Post-Graduation in Palliative Care and several trainings about Stroke and Dementia. In the meantime an offer appeared in the children's area and I embarked on this experience that has brought a special meaning to my practice. The pediatric area is quite diversified and so, I attended an Advanced Specialization on the intervention of Occupational Therapy from Childhood to Adolescence and later, I started a Master in the area of Sensory Integration. I feel that this search for knowledge is fundamental to help the children with whom I intervene, in order to highlight the importance of the intervention of the Occupational Therapist in the pediatric area, whether at the sensory, motor or cognitive level.
